Interesting to get a brief understanding of how MongoDB works in a replicated/sharded set-up. Would definitely consider use sharding for MongoDB scaling if necessary.
It wasn't possible to get an in depth understanding of the subject matter in a 45 minute talk.
Props to Derick for doing this talk at short notice, though.

I still don't understand how can I setup replicated mongoDBs and how to scale them in practice. The talk is though a good overview of capabilities scaling/sharding/replicating mongoDBs. Best explained part: failover pooling.
