This seemed like an ad for a conference sponsor, not relevant to PHP developers unless they already work in global e-commerce.

I have to echo Scott Hardie's comment, the talk sounded a bit like an infomercial. Learned a few interesting tidbits about e-commerce and excited at the idea of being able to trace a product's origin - though I remain sceptical in view of how that's (not) working out with foodstuffs in British Columbia (but that's another story). :)

Federico had a great easy going presentation style. I do wish he'd repeated questions and comments from the audience before answering them, as many people didn't speak loudly or clearly and I missed quite a bit of what was said.

clearly a great speaker, but I have to agree it did feel more like an ad than anything

Federico has great presentation skills and has an easy-going personality. The idea of developers everywhere contributing to a global e-commerce goal sounds great, but doesn't apply to everyone and is a company goal instead of a community goal. I did not appreciate the non-workplace appropriate language that popped up a few times; a keynote talk isn't the place for that. Overall the audience was kept engaged, it was nice that it wasn't kept too long, but the objective was off. It was also hard to hear some of the questions and comments since the speaker didn't repeat them (as Nic mentioned).
