From dev to prod with GitLab CI

Talk at Dutch PHP Conference 2018 (English - US)

GitLab turned into a DevOps lifecycle platform instead of being "just" a web-based Git repository manager. In this session I'll guide you through the process of setting up GitLab and GitLab CI. You will learn some insights on how to configure a GitLab build via the .gitlab-ci.yml file. Together we will take a deep dive into the GitLab CI build pipelines to build and deploy docker containers to your dev, stage and production environments.

Very good talk.
I would leave out the Nexus stuff if you probably don't need it.

Nice introduction to using Gitlab as delivery-pipeline. Stephan managed to turn a potential dry subject into something easy to hear and follow, I really want to try it out!

Very interesting to see the way Gitlab is set up for Stephan. I was waiting for the hard parts, and then the talk was over. There were no hard parts, which means Stephan did a great job in explaining everything in a way that is understandable. Thanks!

Nice talk; I agree about the Nexus thing - like you said, it probably isn't needed anymore, so it would make the message more clear if you could rewrite that small part of the talk, showing how the average user could do it.

The screenshots of the build process were very cool. I'm inspired now to make my blog run on this CI/CD thing.

Hands down the best practical talk I've seen on the DPC. Clear instructions, clear explanation on what is chosen and why, and a overall good presentation of the content.
Thank you!

Excellent talk about gitlab, and well prepared slides with useful information. I especially liked the part about the branch test builds.

Great introduction, clear explanations and a lot of practical tips. I walked away with a lot of useful information. The only thing I was a bit confused about was the Nexus thing, maybe you can leave that out if it is not needed anymore anyway.
