Talk at ZendCon & OpenEnterprise 2018 (English - US)

Rating: 4 of 5

Blockchain technology was originally developed to protect financial data, such as bitcoin mining, to securely send transactions. In addition to using blockchains for financial transactions, we are now starting to see solutions that include using blockchain technology to secure communications between devices. Researchers are finding that we can use blockchains to provide authentication between devices and in any application that requires data integrity as it prevents spoofing. In this presentation, learn the history of blockchain, how blockchains work, along with some practical applications of blockchains.

Lisa was enthusiastic about this topic which makes it more fun for all. It was not only a great breakdown of blockchain and how it works but she also helped with crtyptography questions/insights.

Energetic speaker and knew the topic well. A good starting point for further learning. Would like to have had more time for the speaker to go into some practical and real-world applications for the blockchain. Everyone says the "blockchain will change everything" Seems a little nebelous to me. Would like more detail

This session really helped me get closer to understanding the importance of how using a blockchain will benefit so many business processes. Lisa did a fantastic job presenting the technology within such a short time frame. Understanding how bitcoin works was very helpful. My favorite example to help me understand the blockchain concepts was when she said the blockchain is like the operating system and that bitcoin is an application on it. I would like a copy of the slide show that she presented. I also talked with Lisa at lunch and enjoyed how driven she is to really understand any subject she is researching. I look forward to taking her Lynda.com courses on security.
