Building a Website to Scale to 100 Million Page Views Per Day and Beyond (open to the public)
This closing keynote was very enjoyable and impressive! The website has to deal with so many huge amounts of hits (+100M HTTP requests) and data (8 to 15Gb of logs per hour!) a day. It was very interesting to discover the architecture behind the scene with HA Proxy, Varnish, PHP & Symfony, Redis, MySQL... softwares. It also showed that choosing a web framework like Symfony2 doesn't mean killing performances as long as you use a solid architecture in front of it. The talk was really good but I expected a bit more technical and business details. By chance, we had time to know more at the speakers dinner.

There is a PHP Library for That!
Thank you Anthony for your feedback. I would have said that templating with PHP is error prone and tedious for the following reasons: * You have to take care of escaping variables, * PHP does not support template inheritance by default, * PHP is very verbose, * You can easily mixup business logic and presentation logic, Regarding Pimple, I said it's a Dependency Injection Container. I agree with you that Pimple is a service locator implementation.

Bringing Symfony Components into Your Legacy Code
Thanks for your feedbacks! @Adrian the backward compatibility was important to me as I didn't want to rewrite everything. I needed the step to step approach in order to be able to deploy new finished migrated features while working on the migration. I wasn't able to work everyday and 8 hours a day on my migration. So I wouldn't want to put shut the website down. For my personal use case, this approach was the best. @Evan thank you! @William I still need to improve my English but I work on it each time I speak at a conference or give a training. @Brian Thanks for your feedback. I'm thinking of publishing the code on my Github account at some point. Probably when I will have finished the migration with the new remaining features (twig, assetic...).

Thank you very much for your feedbacks! They're really appreciated. I've shared the url with all sample codes I've presented in my slidedecks. You will find the classes, the unit tests files and a short README file for each component to explain how the code works. I also highly recommend you to look at the unit tests suites files to have a better understanding of how the different patterns works. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. I also hope I will be able to translate the book when it will be ready in french :)

Behind the Scenes of Maintaining an Open Source Project
The keynote was inspiring, fun and with lots of hilarious moments. Jordi is both a talented developer and a great speaker. Thanks for your presentation man! I've rated 4 instead of 5 just because I expected the pace to be a bit more energical. Otherwise, the content was excellent!

The Path to Symfony 3.0
Great talk explaining the huge work done by the Core team and the Symfony community to make Symfony projects easy to migrate to 3.0. I really liked the Deprecation Detector demo time. This tool will be the next Symfony gem.

Symfony, the Official Best Practices!
Hi Brian, Thanks for the feedback. I expected to be overtime. This is the second time I deliver this talk on a 60 minutes slot and it's very short. I will cut down some less interesting parts to make it fit a 45/50 min talk. In the end, it will give more room for questions. I hope you learnt new things. Thanks for attending the talk!

Building a Micro-Framework with Zend Framework 3
Great talk! I really like the domain first approach and the real world example with Poker. I'm rating it 4* just because the talk was supposed to build a microframework on top of ZF3 not a business oriented application. Otherwise the content was technical and interesting. Good job!

Introduction to CQRS and Event Sourcing

Discovering unknown with Event Storming
Very interesting and inspirational talk about event storming. I liked the information given about discovering bounded contexts, potential bugs or limitations, etc. It would have been even better to get some real examples with one of your event storming sessions from your personal experience. This would have brought more concrete insights and value to the talk. Thank you very much!

IoC containers beyond constructor injection
Thanks for the good talk. It’s interesting to see how IoC libraries deal with service class resolution. It’s difficult to compare these libraries because they don’t exactly provide the same set of features. I would have expected to see more information about how these libraries handle runtime performance, caching, container optimization and PHP dumping, lazyness, etc.

Start Smoking, Get Confidence - HTTP Smoke Testing
Really interesting talk that introduced me to smoke testing. I like the live coding session to illustrate your talk. Good job! I wonder if your library could be extracted and added to the Symfony framework by default. It may be interesting to bring it to extend the functional testing framework.

That was a great presentation Carlos. The slides were nicely presented and the speaker knows the subject very well. I’m disappointed the SymfonyCon talks must last only 40 min.
